Regular technical training of the team: focus on knife gate valves with blade flushing system

At Zondex Valve Manufacturing Group, systematic efforts to develop engineering expertise are ongoing. Lead design engineer Zhang Huikang (Danny) conducts weekly additional training sessions for the technical team, aimed at deepening knowledge in the design and selection of industrial pipeline valves.

This week’s training focused on knife gate valves with a blade flushing system — a specialized solution for operation in demanding conditions, including abrasive and contaminated media. During the session, the team thoroughly reviewed design features, operating principles of the flushing system, and the impact of these solutions on reducing wear, improving tightness, and extending maintenance intervals.

Particular attention was given to the technical selection of valves: analysis of operating parameters (pressure, temperature, and medium composition), calculation of service loads, and selection of optimal materials to ensure reliable and stable operation of pipeline systems. Such expertise is critical for projects in the mining industry, where equipment operates under highly abrasive conditions and intensive service regimes.

The training was conducted as part of an ongoing project for an industrial enterprise in Malaysia, specializing in iron ore mining and processing across multiple sites nationwide. This project requires a high level of engineering precision, as the pipeline valves must ensure stable operation of slurry and tailings transport systems under severe operating conditions.

Regular technical training enables the company to maintain a high level of competence, implement advanced engineering solutions, and ensure precise selection and manufacturing of industrial valves tailored to specific customer requirements.
